Overview

The Precision Location of Threats ("P.L.O.T.") Device is a supercomputer that combines a real-time information tracking from across global security and information networks, police chatter, and the internet, with a limited but specialized onboard AI and continuously-updated database to track emerging threats that may require heroic intervention.

Description

Appearing as a large computer with large monitors, the main terminal of the device takes up nearly an entire wall in A Base's mission control room. The actual hardware extends even deeper into the base, accessable through maintainence hatches.

History

The P.L.O.T. Device was created by Professor Alfred MacGuffin, PhD. within the Aegis Base to assist Aegis with crime-fighting and public safety. Following The Eventide and Aegis's subsequent disappearance, the system remained dormant within the base until it was rediscovered and reactivated by a new group of heroes.

Capabilities

The P.L.O.T. Device has proven remarkably useful since its creation, aiding its users in rapid identification and prioritization of threats.

While its range is global, the system acknowledges the presence of other heroes and the geographic and practical limitations of its users, and so prioritizes information that is most relevant.

Its databases also contain a vast amount of information on heroes, villains, and prominant public figures to aid in mission planning.

Fearing false-positives, its creator designed the system to incorporate multiple data-verification processes, and it strives to articulate when information is speculative or unknown.

The device is not omniscient, however, and ultimately relies on information that has either previously been collected or is apparent. While Professor MacGuffin was able to secure certain agreements with private agencies, other information relies on what is available from open or public sources.
