Overview
A creature of extradimensional origin, little else is known about what reports have dubbed the "Brain Leech" save for what can be inferred from its actions and the reports of witnesses. What is clear is it possesses extraordinary mental capabilities and an agenda.
Description
The "Brain Leech" indeed appears as an upright-floating annelid-like creature, larger than a grown human, possessing six reverse-jointed prehensile limbs in addition to a tail, and lean musculature. It has no visible eyes and a jawless, sucker-like mouth lined completely with needle-like teeth.
Origin Story
First believed to be a nightmare or psychotic break, it eventually became clear that multiple witness reports were in fact based in reality. Researchers at the Metahuman Research Center have confirmed the creature is foreign to our dimension, but have failed to trace it further than that.
Personality
As the creature has not shown interest in communicating, its personality has been hard to ascertain. A group of heroes involved in its attempts to break into the Omnis Potentia Lab at the Metahuman research center report that it at one point psychically spoke to them with a mixed offer of mutual aid and threat. If true, this suggests prior lack of communication has been a choice.

Brain Leech is drawn to the mysteries of the universe. It seeks to understand what others find unknowable. Its intelligence is so far beyond the standard human that it does not consider them to be sentient, and sees them much as they see animals. It thus treats them accordingly – not with maliciousness per se, but as things to be utilized and occasionally consumed for sustenance. It is as quick to step on humans or swat them away as they would an insect. It does not process auditory signals as communication, but is fully capable of communicating telepathically, whether or not the target is. However, in its mindset it has little motivation to do so as it would be like us trying to strike up conversation with a stinkbug.
Powers
The Brain Leech is an immensely powerful psion and telepath and posesses intelligence which appears to rival or exceed that of supercomputers. Its alien body is also surprisingly strong and durable. Encounters with it have involved manipulation of individuals via mental illusions. There are also unconfirmed reports that it is capable of utilizing magic.
Equipment
The creature has not been witnessed carrying anything resembling clothing or equipment. Thankfully, it's name is based solely on its appearance and witnesses have not reported it using the teeth it appears equipped with.
